Well, my hobbit boys are in New Zealand. Don’t know what’s going on exactly but I’m sure whatever it is, is awesome. I know, last I was updated, they were going to Weta Workshops to work until they can find a way to meet Peter Jackson and be on set of the movie. I also know that come Wednesday, they are going to be having an event in New Zealnd with all the locals. The press will be there and they will be the center of the event.
It makes me so happy how well this project has worked out. While the boys are in New Zealand I have been back in Provo with the rest of the team, trying to find ways to raise money for the kickstarter, figuring out the script for the documentary and finding a local composer to write the music for the documentary.
Other news: My roommate and I officially were accepted to be interns at Y&R in New York this summer! I am so excited/nervous to work in such a big agency in the city that is center for all things advertising. It’s nerve-racking, we get to put all my skills to the test and see what I have learned.
I was just thinking the other day how much I knew when I first joined the adlab and I first was accepted into the advertising major. It’s been a lot of hard work, but I have learned a lot since then. I have learned html, css, the adobe suite, I know a little bit about video editing, I am a much better designer since I was accepted to the major and I feel like my idea of what a ‘big idea’ is has gotten a lot stronger. I remember first walking into the adlab, feeling so out of place and feeling as though someone was going to ask me if I was lost if I stood in the entry much longer so I ‘v’-lined it to the couch and that has become my spot ever since.
Anyway, now I am rambling. I guess, what I am trying to say with all of this, is it’s really all hitting me at once. Soon i will be graduated. It’s scary, but It’s also quite the adventure.
